Discount codes

While booking a meeting, the client might be asked to make a payment if the host has turned on the payment requirement. Discount codes can be applied to receive a full or partial discount on such payments.

To create a discount code, follow these steps:

  1. Click on Settings from the left-hand sidebar.

  2. Click on the Discount Codes card.

  3. Click on the Add new discount code button.

  4. A new pane will appear where you can name your discount code and choose the discount code type:

4.1. Percentage: This will apply a discount based on a percentage of the total amount.

4.2. Fixed: This allows you to give a fixed amount in the currency of your choice. This fixed amount will be deducted from the total meeting charge when the discount code is redeemed.

  5. If you want your discount code to expire, pick a date from the date picker.

  6. If you want to add a limit to the number of times the discount code can be used, you can set the maximum number of times this discount code can be used. If the value is not set, the discount code can be used infinitely.

  7. If you want to limit the number of times the discount code can be used per person, you can set the maximum number of times a single user can use it. If the value is not set, everyone can use the discount code an infinite number of times.

  8. Click the Save Changes button.

Discount code properties

  1. Code: This is the discount code that your clients can use.

  2. Discount type: When a fixed amount is chosen, the specified value will be reduced from the meeting fee when a client applies the discount code. The currency for the fixed amount will be the same as the currency of the meeting. If a percentage is chosen, the discount will be a reduction by that percentage of the given meeting fee.

  3. Discount percentage/amount: Determines the fixed amount or percentage value for the given discount code.

  4. Expiry date: This can be used to create discount codes that expire after a certain date. If the value is left empty, the discount code will never expire.

  5. Maximum number of times this discount code can be used: This number represents how many times a discount code can be used. Only confirmed bookings would be counted. Bookings made using this specific discount code, but later cancelled, will not be counted. If this value is left empty, the discount code can be used an infinite number of times.

    Example:

I am starting a new business, and as a part of it, I need the first 10 customers to be able to use a discount code to get a 50% discount. So I create a discount code "FIRST10" with the kind as "percentage", and the value as "50". I will also add the value 10 to the "Maximum number of times this discount code can be used" so that the discount code expires after 10 clients have used the discount code.

  6. Maximum number of times this discount code can be used by a single client: Similar to the previous property, but specific to individual clients based on their email addresses. This value determines the number of times a single client can use the specific discount code. If this value is left empty, the discount code can be used an infinite number of times by each client.

    Example:

I want to let my clients experience what they are signing up for, so I would like to give each client 2 free sessions, and then they can choose to pay and continue or not. So I create a discount code "FREE2", with the kind as "Percentage" and value as "100". I will add the value 2 to "Maximum number of times this discount code can be used by a single client" so that each client can only use it two times.

  7. Maximum number of days upto which the client can use the discount code after their first use: This value determines the number of days a client has to use the discount code once they have redeemed it for the first time. If this value is left empty, the discount code can be used indefinitely by the client after the first use.

    Example:

I want to let my clients get a discount code of 50% for the first 5 sessions. But I only want to allow them to use the discount code within a month of their first session. Since each client would sign up at different times, I cannot use the expiry date for this. I will have to use the "Maximum number of days up to which the client can use the discount code after their first use". So I create a discount code "FIRST5FOR50OFF", with the kind as "Percentage" and value as "50". I will add the value 5 to "Maximum number of times this discount code can be used by a single client" so that each client can only use it a maximum of 5 times. I will also add the value 28 to "Maximum number of days upto which the client can use the discount code after their first use" so that each client can use this discount code up to 28 days after they have used it once.

  8. Specify client emails that can use this discount code. If left empty any client email can use this discount code: List of client emails who are permitted to use this discount code. If left empty, any client email can use this discount code.

    Example:

I would like to provide a special discount for clients who have emailed me feedback regarding my sessions. Since I have their emails, I can do this easily. I will create a discount code "SPECIAL25" with a value of 25, and kind as "percentage". I will add all the emails to the "Specify client emails that can use this discount code. If left empty any client email can use this discount code" option. Now only the clients whose emails are listed under this option can use this discount code.
